MY EXPERIENCE

Akhtar began his career as an Enhanced Caseworker for Victim Support, a national charity in the UK. He provided support and advocacy to those in distress since his 20s. Being an Enhanced Caseworker, managing caseloads of domestic abuse, bereavement, homicide and supervision and supporting the junior staff.

Akhtar continued his work in mental health for the Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust, which provides services across Milton Keynes and several London boroughs, including Brent, Harrow, Hillingdon, Kensington and Chelsea, and Westminster. When needed, provide specialist assessment and advice, conduct clinical screenings, or refer individuals to teams under the clinical pathway guidelines.

While pursuing his education and studies, Akhtar was a deputy manager in GP surgeries and NHS hospitals. Since 2004, he has gained expertise in Behaviour Therapy and Family Counselling to support people better.

Akhtar has listened to many people’s struggles with mental health. He uses his skills to help them cope and manage their issues. He also empowers them to make changes and be more aware of their social surroundings to improve their relationships.

Akhtar’s holistic and integrative counselling approach views individuals as unique and provides a non-judgmental space.
